Quick Fix-It Tips
My air-conditioning won’t come on, what could be wrong?
You may have tripped a breaker. Turn your breaker off then back on. Wait 2-5 minutes then adjust your thermostat. If the unit still doesn’t come on, call our office for repair.
Why is the air coming out of my vents not cold?
Your unit may be low on refrigerant or you may have clogged filters hindering air-flow through the coil.
I heard my air-conditioning come on, why can’t I feel any cold air?
This may be caused by a defective fan motor which will require repair/replacement by a licensed air-conditioning contractor.
The pilot light in my furnace is out, can you light it for me?
While we would be happy to provide this service to you, you can call your utility provider and request this service, which is usually free of charge to their customers.
How often should I change the filters?
Preventative maintenance of your heating and air-conditioning equipment is important in order to ensure long-life and optimum heating and cooling. Filters should be changed at least every 1-3 months. However, if you and/or your family suffer from allergies or if you have any pets, you may want to change them more often. Ask us about an air-filtration system that will remove 98% of all allergens from your home, and don’t forget to ask us about our Preventative Maintenance Programs.
When I start up my furnace, I smell something burning. Is that normal?
Usually, yes. What you’re smelling is the “burn off” of dirt and debris that builds up over time and can clog your pilot and burner assemblies. Before starting your furnace, remove any build-up and change your filters.
I have the large box-type filters, can I buy them anywhere?
While many hardware stores offer these filters, they’re usually not designed specifically for your system. We stock an array of sizes and types of filters. Give us a call!
Do your repairmen carry parts on their trucks?
Yes! However, every repair is unique and therefore may require special parts or equipment which we may not have on our trucks. However, we can usually obtain the required parts/equipment the next day in order to alleviate any unnecessary downtime.
