With over 33 years of professional air conditioning repair experience in the area, Allison Air Conditioning has seen pretty much all kinds of problems with heating, ventilation, and air conditioning. However, a large number of these problems are more or less similar in nature, and the answers and solutions are also similar in style.
So, to save you the trouble, here are the most frequently asked questions by clients and the best answers from our technicians and specialists.
My Air Conditioning Is On, but I Don’t Feel Cool Air. What’s Wrong?
If this is the first time you’ve experienced this, our recommendation is to call for air conditioning repair right away. It’s important to understand that if your air conditioner is not cooling the air properly, there are a number of possible reasons for this. A professional will be able to properly diagnose a problem.
Do I Need to Change My Filters? How Often Do I Need to Change My Filters?
If you have reusable and washable air filters, there’s no need for air conditioning repair or replacement. Simply wash up the filter and then reattach it to the system. This should be done as often as needed, but one good test to see if it needs cleaning up is opacity. If your filter is already opaque from dust and debris, it’s time to clean it. For non-washable filters, the standard lifespan is about two to three months, or a month if you have pets.
My Pilot Light Is Out. Can I Just Light It Up Myself?
No. We don’t recommend that you do this yourself, even if you have done it before. We’ll be happy to do it but your utility provider offers this service for free, as well.
Are There Spare Parts in Your Technician’s Trucks?
For common parts that need replacement during air conditioning repair, our technicians usually have those ready for use in the truck. For more specialized parts, we will have to either get it from the office first or place an order for it if we don’t have it readily available.
